This week was pretty good.  Honestly, not a whole lot happened though. We didn't have any baptisms because this lady keeps having a bunch of questions that she "needs answers for."  We don't have any baptisms for this week due to Conference, but I ain't complaining cuz hey, it's Conference...but in Spanish. We do have one the following week, so whoop! whoop!  His name is Jorge--he's the last member of my first two baptisms.

Story one:
Well, I believe it was Friday and we were on splits. I was with Elder Wilcox in my area and we were on our way to Reserva 2 when a recent convert stopped to talk with us. She asked the same question she asked us the day before, "Am I allowed to get plastic surgery?"  I was already frustrated her because of the question the day earlier, so I decided to play a little hard ball with her. I said, 'Well look at it this way.  God gave you this great gift--your body.  He didn't have to, but He did cuz He loved you. And you're saying, 'Thanks God, but I think you messed up on this, and this so I'm gonna change it. She responded, 'Well no its different.  Its just like making the product better.'  So I just said 'Well, the missionary that baptized you gives you this gift, and you turn around and say 'ah thanks so much but yeah I'm just gonna change this right now cuz I don't like this part''.  And she said, 'Oh, no no no.  I would never do that to something Elder Shipley gave me.  Never.'  Me: 'Well Hermana,  Elder Shipley isn't perfect and the gift he gives you probably isn't perfect either. And now you have this body, which God thinks is perfect, because God can't make something that isn't perfect, and you're turning around and saying thanks but you messed up on a few parts so I'm just gonna change it.  Well, needless to say she got the point and the answer to her question which she didn't really like. haha   And then after Elder Wilcox said, 'Wow you just drilled into her'. My response--'Haha. Oops--sorry.  Didn't mean to--it was just really getting on my nerves'.

Story two:
The racism here is pretty darn real, but its towards the Americans. One thing is that I can barely get a taxi to stop for us, and when I do they demand like 20-30 pesos more than what everyone else pays. Also, whenever I walk down the street you always hear people calling me Hijo de Trump, but not in a joking manner. So i just act like i don't know ingles and explain that I'm actually from Mexico, just really white cuz I'm from the North. Which is actually really, really funny, because I sound like a complete gringo. But hey its all good cuz I'm thoroughly enjoying it, and I'm gaining a lot of good stories.

I don't believe I have any other fun stories to tell so sorry. General Conference is this week so you guys should all go and watch that cuz that'll be great. I will be watching all of the sessions in Spanish--so whoop! whoop!--won't understand a lot of it, but that's all good. I know that if you watch conference with a question in your heart or on a piece of paper or on your phone (doesn't really matter where--just that you have one), and you have a little bit of faith, you'll receive an answer to not just one question but all the questions that you have. It is because you are listening to the Prophet and Apostles of God.  And they are receiving revelation not just for the whole church but also for each individual in the church.

Have a great week

Love you all
