This week was pretty good as always. I had my first transfer of the area so what's up. Nothing too big has happened though. I got transferred to Aeropuerto, which is called that because the Aeropuerto is in our area. Its still technically in the port so that's not fun, but hey--oh well. My new companion is also the lider de districto, so we are constantly leaving the area for interviews--so that kinda blows a little. His name is Elder Flores, he is pretty cool and we are having a lot of success so far this week. Not really sure how long I have left with him due to the fact that transfers are in a week (I was part of a special cambio of like ten missionaries for some reason). So he could be leaving in a week and I'll be left in this area--haha--not really knowing a whole lot.

Story one:

Today I had my first wedding. The lucky couple were two investigators-Rita and Armando. We got a call on Wednesday with the news that they were getting married the falling Monday, today. So we happily excepted the invitation to go and we also obtained permission from the President.  So the wedding was an hour and a half away in Jamapa, and we had to figure out how to get there. Saturday we finally found a ride with one of the ward missionaries and we thought we were all set. Well yesterday she said she couldn't make it and we would have to find another ride. So we were looking and looking and looking and finally Armando invited us to ride with him. We happily agreed. So we showed up at seven at his house this morning and figured out that we would be riding in the back of a mini Uhaul trailer. haha   Ahh--yeah. So we crammed like ten people in the back of this trailer and we had to shut the door. It was pitch black and extremely hot and humid. It was also a very hard floor. However it was actually extremely fun and I thoroughly enjoyed myself haha.  Mhey made the comment  (not me) that we were just crossing the border. The wedding was pretty fun--just in a little room signing papers--but hey, oh well-- it was a happy day. And they got to officially start a marriage and a family and not break the law of chastity. This Saturday the will both be getting baptized--so whoop whoop.

Story Two:

The teaching here is going a whole lot better than in my last area. We are teaching as companions and not as different people. Our chemistry is pretty darn good I like to believe. The Spirit in the lessons is actually a lot stronger as well. We are focusing heavily on the Book of Mormon and obtaining a testimony of it. We tell all the people we teach and every lesson they need to gain there own testimony of the book, and if they don't there is a very large risk that they'll go inactive or be shaken by things in the world. This is because they haven't built their house on the rock of the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon never changes and it never will change. The teachings are the same and the Spirit and love that you feel is also the same no matter your age, gender, or time of year. However, if you build your testimony on the branches of the church like on the classes or the people, you are building your faith on the sand. this things are constantly changing, and they will never stay the same. So when the sand shifts your house runs the risk of falling over and collapsing. When this happens a lot of people don't want to rebuild this testimony or house back up, so they move and they change everything completely. And in a lot of cases these people don't know where to look, so they unavoidably build on more uneven, insecure ground. And this process repeats over and over again. This is for people in and out of the church. However there is a very, very simple fix. Just turn to the thing that doesn't change--the Book of Mormon. Build your testimony on this and nothing else. And then you can start adding some more rooms to this house--like classes and people and other stuff. But when those things start to shake and waver and change it isn't important cuz you know you're safe cuz you built your house on the rock. Boom--primary song.

That is all I got for this week. I hope all is well with you guys and I love you all.   Keep up the good work.  I'm proud of all of you.

Church is true--go be awesome (Anne Bagley)

Love,

Tanner
